Updater Properties Tab

Set the options for the Updater (also applied to the Online Installer). These settings are saved in the Client Side index file.

Appearance and Options

Style

Select the Updater style.

·         None. The Updater operates in background and never appears on the screen.

·         Wizard. The Updater appears as a wizard dialog box.

·         Wizard on Top. The Updater appears as a wizard dialog box on top of other windows.

·         Compact. The Updater appears as a compact dialog box over the system tray.

·         Compact on Center. The Updater appears as a compact dialog box on the center of the screen.

Update Notification

Select how the Updater icon appears to provide an update notification.

·         Never show Updater icon in system tray.

·         Always show Updater icon in system tray.

·         Show Updater icon in system tray while downloading.

·         Show Updater icon in system tray after download.

Automatically Check for Updates

Select the frequency of checking for updates.

·         Never.

·         Every time when the application is started.

·         Every day when the application is started.

·         Every week when the application is started.

·         Every 2 weeks when the application is started.

·         Every month when the application is started.

Automatically Retry

Specify the interval in which the Updater will retry to check for updates, if the previous attempt failed.

Confirmation

Specify how the Updater proceeds to download and install the update.

·         Confirm before downloading updates.

·         Confirm before installing updates.

Caption Prefix

Specify the caption of the Updater dialog box. The format of the caption is <Caption prefix> – <Software title>. For example, Auto Update – ElecKey 2.0.

Runtime Settings

Specify how the Updater or Online Installer installs the downloaded file.

·         Run the File (Executable). Specify the parameters to be passed to the downloaded file when the Updater or the Online Installer executes it.

·         Run the Command Line. If the downloaded file is not an executable, you can enter a command line or a script file such as a VBS or batch file that will handle the downloaded file.
